Charlie Turner opens a door in London and finds herself stranded aboard a starship outside time.Back on Earth, her aunt Michelle is trying to find out where she went. Charlie, meanwhile, is stuck with 400 time travellers who can't agree on anything, and she has no idea what she’s doing.On top of that, something is very wrong with time.And they’re both running out of it.
What am I working on?
I’m wrapping up my first novel.I have always been in love with stories, both reading and writing. This time, the plan is to finish this one properly, see if anybody wants to publish it, and then write another. And so on.I’m mostly interested in ordinary people finding themselves in impossible situations and having to work out what to do next. Sometimes there’s science involved. Things tend to get out of hand.

Hello, I’m Jonathan.I’m originally from the south of England and live in County Wicklow, Ireland with my family.For most of my working life I’ve been around technology, complicated organisations, and people trying to make sensible decisions while things go wrong. I have also always been fascinated by the art of story-telling, and how you can take people on a journey with you, just with words.Apparently some of this was useful preparation for writing a book or two.I’ve always loved stories, particularly science fiction and fantasy - if it has a map inside the first page, or a spaceship on the cover, I'll read it - but the bit that interests me most has never really been the spaceships, time machines, dragons or magic - they are cool, of course. But the real story is the people stuck in the middle of them.Somewhen is my first novel. I’m finishing it now, and once it’s ready I’m going to see whether I can persuade somebody to publish it.

Somewhen is a character-driven science-fiction mystery about time travel, impossible choices and ordinary people discovering that the end of the universe is still, somehow, somebody’s problem.

Charlie Turner only opened a door.
She certainly wasn’t trying to travel through time and space. So it’s a bit of a surprise when she wakes aboard the Zeus, a starship stranded somewhere outside both, with hundreds of people who were trying to do just that.
They’re all physicists, engineers, test pilots—exactly the sort of people you’d expect to be building time machines.
Charlie, however, is a web developer who’d been helping her aunt investigate the disappearance of Gideon Beck, a celebrated young scientist she’d already decided was a prick.
Back in London, Charlie’s aunt Michelle—a former detective who knows exactly how much trouble Charlie can find—is now investigating what began as a simple missing person case, and is starting to look a lot like the end of the world.
The past is running out of time.
Somewhen follows two converging storylines: Charlie aboard the Zeus, trying to understand where she is and how to get home, and Michelle back in London, following the trail left by Charlie’s disappearance.
